Boudoir Photography – Frequently Asked Questions
The thought of having a boudoir session can be intimidating! When talking to women about their session, I get asked all kinds of questions. So I wanted to compile a list of my 12 most frequently asked questions to give you some insight on preparing for a boudoir session with me!
Do you share my images?
Our number 1 priority is making sure our clients are comfortable! It can be a life changing experience, but that also makes it nerve wracking! Sometimes, you are learning how to love your body and you aren’t quite ready to share the images with the world, or sometimes these photos are specifically for your partner and aren’t for anyone else’s eyes. These are all great reasons for not sharing your photos, and it all depends on your personal preferences. I would love to share your images and the art we create but I will ask your permission first, and only share what you are comfortable with.
Do I have to wear lingerie?
You definitely don’t have to wear lingerie. What you wear depends on your vision for your shoot. There are a ton of outfit ideas you can use that aren’t lingerie that you probably have in your closet. After booking we send our a wardrobe guide with a ton of info to help you decide what to wear.
Do you have payment plans?
We offer a few different payment options! There is a session fee/retainer due to book your shoot, but you don’t need to select a collection until you view your images. ! If you want to make payments on your products after your shoot we partner with Affirm and PayPal Credit for financing. You can also schedule your shoot up to 12 months out, and pay on your products monthly so when you come in – all you need to do is select your images since your products are paid for! (Let me know if this is something that you want to set up!)
Is hair and makeup included?
Hair and makeup is ALWAYS included in all of our boudoir shoots! I think it’s really important for you to feel pampered, and having your hair and makeup done is a great way to do that! Our amazing artist can help you complete your look, whether that’s “I just woke up like this” or Full on glam! You can bring any ideas you want for your makeup and we can use it for inspiration!
Do you Photoshop my images?
I do edit your images for light, exposure, and color balance. I do skin soften and blend skin tone. You will be magazine flawless however I do NOT change or alter your body. Part of the process of accepting yourself and seeing your beauty also means not photoshopping yourself into a different person. If there are parts of yourself that are learning to love and aren’t thrilled about, that is okay! We are skilled in posing and lighting to make you look your absolute best and brings out your shine!
Where should I buy outfits?
There are a few places to buy outfits from and it depends on what you are getting and the style of your shoot! Here is a long list to choose from with different style and sizing! What type of print products do you have?
We offer a variety of albums, luxury glass print boxes and wall art. We are most known for our heirloom quality albums. These albums will last your life time. Can you imagine opening up your album on your 80th birthday and seeing all the beautiful art work you created? So much more impactful than looking at them on a tiny screen.
Do you offer digitals?
All of our packages include some sort of print and digital product. There is also an A La Carte list that you can purchase from that includes digital options. These digital images come in a locked online gallery or a glass USB depending on how many you select.
I’m freaking out! How can I calm my nerves?
Nerves are all part of the experience! I always say that it would probably be weird if you WEREN’T nervous. The nervousness in the beginning of your shoot make your moment of “WOW” seeing your photos for the first so much better! How many outfits should I bring?
We usually suggest bringing at least 1-2. If you want to bring more we can help you decide which will look best! If you don’t want to bring a thing that is fine too – We have a HUGE client closet with sizes XS-4X.
Should I get to my shoot early?
You should always plan on getting to your shoot ON TIME but not early. We spend the morning setting the studio just for you! We won’t be ready early.
Where is your studio located?
We are located in Clarksville, TN. (Just 40 minutes north of Nashville!) We have an entire private residence we use solely as our studio.
